Let’s talk about… Maleficent!!

Two weeks ago I saw Maleficent for the first time. It’s a 2014 American dark fantasy film, starring Angelina Jolie as the eponymous Disney villainess character, the film is a live-action re-imagining of Walt Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty, portraying the story from the perspective of the antagonist, Maleficent. I really liked the film because it makes you understand why Maleficent is so “evil”. My favourite part was when Aurora wakes up and she becomes the queen of the human and fairy realms, unifying the two kingdoms, with Philip at her side. I loved Lana del Rey’s cover of "Once Upon a Dream", from the 1959 film Sleeping Beauty as the title song for Maleficent.

Let’s talk about… Agent Carter!!

Agent Carter, is an American television series inspired by the films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the Marvel One-Shot short film of the same name.. The series features the Marvel Comics character Peggy Carter, with Hayley Atwell reprising her role from the film series and One-Shot, as she must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark while trying to navigate life as a single woman in 1940s America. The first season aired from January 6 to February 24, 2015. There are eight episodes in the first season. In January 2015, executive producers, Fazekas and Butters confirmed that a second season is possible, and that it would not necessarily be limited to eight episodes.

Let’s do some Cooking!!

My favourite dessert is nutella cheesecake. I wanted to do it myself so I did a research and I’ll teach you how to do it! Believe me, it’s really easy. You will need:
  • 250 grams digestive biscuits
  • 75 grams soft unsalted butter
  • 1 x 400 grams jar Nutella (at room temperature)
  • 100 grams chopped toasted hazelnuts
  • 500 grams cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 60 grams icing sugar (sifted)
First, break the biscuits into the bowl of a processor, add the butter and a 15 ml tablespoon of Nutella, and blitz until it starts to clump. Add 25g/3 tablespoons of the hazelnuts and continue to pulse until you have a damp, sandy mixture..
Tip into a 23cm round springform and press into the base either using your hands or the back of a spoon. Place in the fridge to chill. Beat the cream cheese and icing sugar until smooth and then add the remaining Nutella to the cream cheese mixture, and continue beating until combined.
Take the springform out of the fridge and carefully smooth the Nutella mixture over the base. Scatter the remaining chopped hazelnuts on top to cover and place the tin in the fridge for at least four hours or overnight. Serve straight from the fridge for best results.
Tada! It's love at first bite!

Let’s talk about… Sherlock!!

Recently, I started watching a serie named Sherlock. It’s a contemporary adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It only has three seasons of three episodes each one, but every episode lasts 80 or 90 minutes. Created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, it stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. Although the detective is usually dispassionate and cold, during an investigation he is animated and excitable. He’s pleased when his skills are recognised, and responds to flattery. I really like the music of the serie. Since I’ve seen all the episodes I’m now waiting for the fourth season that will be aired in 2016.
